Lamberhurst GC Captain 2025/2026

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Lamberhurst Golf Club.

I am extremely honoured and privileged to have been elected as Captain for 2025, a year in which we celebrate our 135^th anniversary, the Club having been founded in 1890, with an initial 9 holes set out in the grounds of Court Lodge. Since that time, the Club has seen many changes and developments, being extended to 18 holes during the 1970s and more recently the purchase of the freehold of the land on which the original 9 holes were laid out. Situated in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there are many spectacular views from both the golf course and the Clubhouse, whilst the course itself presents many challenges, with two holes crossing the River Teise, undulating fairways and fast, tricky greens.

Lamberhurst is a members’ club, run by the members, for the members and our primary focus is on maintaining and improving the quality of the course as well as developing other facilities that enhance the experience of members and visitors alike. This is reflected in some of our recent capital projects, which include the installation of capillary drainage in our greens, the installation of an indoor Swing Studio and as mentioned the acquisition of the land on which the Clubhouse and half of the course sits.

After a round of golf our Clubhouse, with 2 bars and an excellent catering offering is a great place to relax and re-live the highlights of your round. On a summer afternoon there are few better places to enjoy a post-golf drink than the terrace at Lamberhurst overlooking the 18^th green.

In need of golf equipment, clothing or accessories? Our Head Professional and his team will be more than willing to help and can also offer lessons whether you are new to the game or an established player looking to improve further. They also run dedicated teaching and academy programmes for Ladies as well as coaching for our thriving junior section.
