JUNIOR COACHING

Rob Lowles - PGA Golf Professional/Junior Organiser

Lamberhurst Golf Club welcomes and actively encourages boys and girls from 5 years old upwards to become involved in golf through out structured junior golf programme. Both 1-2-1 and group lessons are available at Lamberhurst, whether it be on the course or the practice ground, your child can be guaranteed to receive expert, Professional tuition suited to their age and skill level.

First class lessons given by CRB, PGA certified/qualified golf Professional, ensure that all lessons are given in a way that quickly improves your child's technical ability and improves their all round game to the highest possible level.

We provide all the equipment (at no extra cost) that are needed to learn golf and our pricing policy clearly shows how committed we are to the development of junior golf. There is no need to spend out any money on clubs until we are sure that golf is the right sport for the child, and we certainly do not expect you to pay extra for the balls used in the lesson.

The ROOKIE group meet up at 12.00pm, this lesson is geared towards the less experienced and younger juniors. Children in this group will have their own 'Junior Golf Passport' with challenges to complete in all aspects of the game.

The TOUR group meet up at 2.00pm for the hour lesson, from next year it may be followed by a 9 hole competition. There are lots of trophies to play for and an overall order of merit/player of the year. Inter Club matches had been introduced in 2011 and will be having more this year, allowing the juniors the chance to play other Clubs in the area.

What is it ?

The Junior Golf Passport is the national learning programme for young people, it includes a series of achievable targets and about the rules and etiquette of golf. The emphasis is on having fun while learning, it is a comprehensive, progressive, structured programme designed to help young people learn about playing the game of golf. The programme encourages and motivates beginners through the achievement of attainment targets combined with rewards and the most important element - FUN!

How does it work ?

The programme covers the five core elements of the game: Putting, Short Game, Long Game, Playing and the Golfers Code. For each of these levels there are a series of targets that get professively more challenging, the passport provides each child with a record of achievement as they develop their skills and knowledge.

Whilst the aim is to progress through the levels, an individual's progress in any of the core elements need not to be held back. For example, if a child is a particularly good putter he/she could progress through the putting module and could be rewarded using the stickers. A certificate would be awarded on completion of a level.

On completion of ALL levels a player will have completed his/her Junior Golf Passport and will receive a certificate.
